I am a self identified polymath and renaissance woman, here to connect the dots and initiate change. While I may be a jack of all trades, I am not a master of none. I leverage my strengths to look for patterns — allowing me to work smarter, and not harder. This is what the future demands of us humans, if we wish to keep up with the pace of technology. The time for change is now.
The first step for any change is to develop readiness for change. We must create space. We must maintain our ability to dream, to envision, and to receive change when the time comes. Without an open mind, we get in our own way. Each of us must become change agents on an individual level in order to usher in the innovation required for change on a larger scale. Whether that be a team level, an organization, or society at large — everything begins with the I am. Who are you? How can you help? And are you ready to answer the call?
As we face the unknown collectively, we each have an individual responsibility to answer the call of our vocational purpose. Each path is unique, but we are all interconnected as we co-create a future that’s better than today. We must do the shadow work on an individual level in order to become the kinds of people who are able and willing to be open and collaborative team members within an organization. We can are no longer safe in the silos of the ego. We must learn from one another. We must get out of our own way. It is not your job to solve the world’s problems — you are not a hero. But you are an integral piece of the puzzle. Your talents, skills, and abilities are crucial. We need you to believe in yourself enough to share your gifts with the world, and communicate that. We need you on the team.
I dream of a world where business processes are in alignment with nature. Managing both human and natural resources effectively, solving real problems, initiating creative breakthroughs for human evolution. This is work that requires communication, collaboration, creativity, and curiosity. We cannot continue to cling to our comfort zones as siloed specialists. We must learn to speak each other’s languages, so we can build human systems of information within organizations that are complex enough to match the reality of the modern-day digital landscape. This is the work of digital transformation, knowledge management, change management, and digital strategy.
There are several buzzwords to be used, depending on what perspective have and what sector you come from. But to me, while my path may not be linear, I can sum it up succinctly: I am here to transform.
